The Northern Angling Show

Another year closes at the Northern Angling Show, and what a weekend we’ve had! It has been non-stop, but we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. We’ve had the opportunity, to not just help you all with our fishing funfair games, where you can learn skills and techniques such as casting, ‘bait throwing’ and pole fishing. We’ve also had the opportunity to talk to some of the best, high profile anglers in the world who are all huge supporters of what we do and what we stand for at Get Hooked on Fishing. Now prepare for some name dropping here… we’ve had the delight to speak to Adam Penning, Dean Macey, Rob Hughes, Darren Cox, Alan Blair, Oli Davies, Ian Russell, James Robbins and Frank Warwick. Not only have we been able to share our success stories with them, they’ve all happily taken time out of their busy schedules, to listen and talk to us. We even got the amazing chance to meet Jeremy Wade from the television show River Monsters! Who was more than interested in hearing about all things Get Hooked on Fishing, what we do, and how we help the lives of each child we coach.

Being invited to an event like the Northern Angling Show allows us to showcase the work we do within our charity and the dedication our licensed coaches and volunteers have towards helping anyone and everyone.

We have lots more events coming up over the next few months; we’ll be at: Glasgow Open Weekend (02nd March 2018 – 04th March 2018), The Big One (24th & 25th March) and of course, we’ll

be at BBC Countryfile LIVE (02nd – 05th August). We also have our family fishing days at our different projects across the country.
